GOLDA MOWE - Indigenous Writer MALAYSIA

Golda Mowe is a writer from Malaysia who writes about the Iban people of Sarawak. The traditional stories and life philosophies of this indigenous tribe are a major source of inspiration in many of her work. Her fantasy novels 'Iban Dream' (2013) and 'Iban Journey' (2015) are published in paperback by Monsoon Books. The third and final sequel, 'Iban Woman', is expected to be out within the year.

Her love for history, folklore, and primitive technology has also inspired her to start writing historical fiction. She passionately believes that there are many unknown but amazing stories from indigenous cultures in the region that are waiting to be explored.



was born in West Borneo-Kalimantan Indonesia, 23 June 1982 Graduated at the Faculty of Arts, Indonesian Institute of Art, Yogyakarta.

Active in various art exhibitions in Indonesia and learn self-taught tattoo artist over some traditional Dayak Iban tribe, Kapuas Hulu in West Borneo-Kalimantan. Until now continues to
research and study of the Traditional of Dayak tattoos, especially “pantang Iban”.



Budaya Iban Sungai Utik Community is an arts group which is located at Sungai Utik, Batu Lintang Village, Kapuas Hulu, West Kalimantan. They are art activists, especially art of dance, percussion and oral tradition.

They are well known in the national and international arena through their Begendang Mayoh percussion performance at the XI Seasonal Arts and Culture Festival in Yogjakarta 2013, Cultural Show at Taman Ismail Marzuki Jakarta, Dayak Cultural Festival in Kuching, Malaysia 2015, Year Putussibau City 2015, Pekan Gawai Dayak West Kalimantan in Pontianak 2017, and Festival of Lake Sentarum Betung Kerihun in Lanjak 2017.
